so rad, i'm in love with the airy distant alarm noise that rises out of that main voice at 3:03

Really dig this.

You have a talent for creative arrangement that sounds so natural, it often takes a few listens before I start to appreciate how cleverly everything fits together to make things happen.  Then there are moments of flair like the transition at ~1:50 and the drop a ~2:30―listening to those over headphones was awesome.  It sounds like you've found quite a few uses for freezing reverb, too.  Sounds great!

thank you!  it's a reverb freeze on the last note of the melody from the previous 8 bars before it drops an octave.   I really love freezing the reverb on the M8 and have been totally abusing it the past month or so.  The M8 "dirtyverb" or modverb is quite lush and freezing it while dropping it off of all the voices so they run dry for a few bars really makes for a cool type of effect in itself.

Wow thanks so much!  One thing I find the M8 frees up for the user (as opposed to say LSDJ) is the ability to slightly orchestrate things as far as the arrangement is concerned rather than having to tightly pack everything together (nothing wrong with either approach, just noting the difference).  Fitting all four harmonic pad voices on a single channel via FM left me open to create a 3 channel staggered arp pseudo delay while still having 4 channels left for other stuff.   Because of this i can approach writing a tune the way i really like to, which is by having a bunch of very simple things happening all at once in layers like you could in say a tracker with more than 4 or so channels.  Its the perfect amount of limitation and the perfect amount of creative freedom.

pretty pleasant~
- Ebrit

Super digging that chip-lead solo at the half-way mark. Lot of cool phrases in there and the tone is on point.

thanks everyone for checking this out - am happy with how this one ended up as it contains some instruments that have been slowly developing over the course of being used in several weeklybeats this year

1. this track owns;
2. not sure if this + daylight are meant as a diptych or not, but they go really well together, but I don't want to assume you're not covering the rest of the "states of night/day cycle" smile
3. reverb freeze moments are awesome -- ashamed to admit I've not explored it properly (in general, "middle" set of automation lane commands been neglected so far, but the year is still young) -- but inspired to mess w/ it.

This is a great track.
