Curry Soul Food

By Dillinger on February 23, 2014 12:34 pm

This track was inspired by a meal cooked by my wife. UmUm!

I tried to challenge myself with the use of a new genre, a tempo change and using some Eastern Indian scales and instruments. Also threw in some homemade samples from voice and kitchen utensils.
Drumjam was utilized for Tabula, Djembe and Drabukka sound generation.

Dig in!

Thank you xserra for the excellent Raga samples(Attribution CC).

Nice! love the instrumentation and overall groove here.

Nice sample ;-) Again like the percussion, but I think the Numanesque synths really make it stand out. Good track name too

Nice! Now I'm busting out my curry cookbook!

Many thanks

it's quite remarkable how we both independently achieved a sort of brassy, throbbing bass tone in our respective tracks. and i really enjoy the humor you injected, fun!
