Melodica Melodies 2

By Devieus on October 14, 2018 6:28 pm

There is no 1, this was AYhaz' idea of a title, so now it's there forever.

I composed this entire thing in Korg Gadget with the express intention of recording melodica parts, that version has a bit more punch to it because the timing is 100% flawless. This one's nice, but the other version would actually fit a game really well (the jury's out on what type of game though).

I'm not sure if I've heard this melody before, but if I have, I've repurposed it to a new level. It's a very nice melody for sure, perhaps a little too slow to really catch, so here's the other version:

Incredible panoramic spread on the Melodica!

real comfy! heart

Has cheerful and epic feel to it, like the melody!

The melody has that instant familiarity that all the best ones do, but I definitely can't place it anywhere specific.  Sounds great on the melodica.

There's a trick to that, usually it involves recording the same part twice and putting them in different channels. At times where I only record it once I put the tiniest delay in it.

Yea, the melody is really kicking it here.

Exactly my sentiment. It's a very powerful yet simple melody that you can listen to for hours on end without really getting bored of it. It's the kind of music I want.

Grandiose!

Epic sounding. I can't believe no melodica. Sounds like lots of melodica. The slight time delay on the doubled track you described in the comments has added a very rich chorus effect.  All the sounds are very rush and the melody is definitely good enough for me to subconsciously borrow in a future track.

Definitely.

You better believe the melodica. I suppose the chorus is laid on pretty thick, guess I just went with it.

I'd love to hear what you can do with the melody, even consciously.

The melody is great, very catchy.

Thanks. It really is.

This has great, uplifting quality to it... sounds somehow majestic and down-to-earth at the same time. Great work! The soundcloud version is great too, but I probably prefer this one.

That could be the power of actual instrumental performances, so to each their own.

I think the down-to-earth is because of the chord progression, it's just I-VIIb-VI-V, and the majesty could be way the progression is used.

yay melodica!

Sweet moves by the way.

It's a rousing symphony of Melodicas!  Well done!
