Mankduquamurech

By Devieus on August 9, 2020 7:23 pm

I have no idea what's going on with that title, it's insane, it might be the name of a demon or something.

I tried a thing and it didn't really pan out. I'll check it out later. Fortunately, it's still a good song though.

at 0:33 it sounds like the birds are doing little DJ scratches now which is pretty sick haha. And the melody line that took form shortly thereafter was pretty cool too.

This track has a rather majestically welcoming intro, nice nice nice!

The title is demonic, but the music sounds like it could accompany the hero riding forth to do battle with the dreaded demon Mankduquamurech.

Good news, I googled the title and there were no matches.  I feel like most demons would have a web presence by now.

Not sure what you tried this week, but the pads are fat as hell.  If that was it, then I'd say you nailed it.

What did you try that didn’t pan out? Make sure you keep that bird hydrated over there!

That slow attack sounds is great in combination with the faster ones. Gives it a nice string section feeling. A good one!

Leave it to the little guy to hype the place up.

Probably because it was terse, so it moves very elegantly.

Every bossfight needs a theme.

Most of my songs don't have much of a hit, which is great for SEO. This one's especially solid because it's one word.

What I tried is maybe a little technical, but it does have to do with the pads (continued below)

I tried to have a waveform generator generate smooth waves, similar to sine waves and square waves, but instead a smooth curve going in random directions. It didn't work, it only made a straight flat-line, so I'll be debugging that. The reason you don't hear it is because I manually drew a curve in its place (it's the lead instrument that plays when the bass has a huge attack and is actually 4 waves).

The bird isn't real, it does not require water. But I'll pretend I will give it some anyway.

Yea, I should find a way to program that in.

while I was sinking deep into the song and enjoyed the several climaxes, I was sure that there is a beautiful story been told. It evoked nice feelings and was touching, although I was telling myself, it is only a generator. this is fascinating, like the title is, aswell.

After seeing your avatar for years, I only just realized the right and left aren't where my brain thought they were...

I love the crunchy tones in this one and there's one melody that makes me oddly emotional.

This is something I've been meaning to get into. Should a song be telling a story? Does my music tell one? Just because it's procedurally generated (without storytelling in mind at the moment) does that mean a story cannot be found in it? I liked the title as well, that's why I went with this output, but perhaps the title is itself part of the story? The words themselves are complete gibberish, but they have a sorcerous feel to them.

It's impossible to say for sure, but then that's the case for all instrumental songs and it's still just a generator.

Yea, my pfp is pretty polarizing.

Thanks! I haven't touched the melody generator that much, but there's little point messing with what works well.

This place=lit.

There are good demons, sometimes. At least this one seems to have some fun with your sounds. I like them too. smile

Soundtrack for a flash back sequence? walking through a forest, maybe?

Maybe it's that low pitched square wavey sound but I got some Metroid vibes early on smile

Was going to say the same thing!  Really love that sound.

With demons, it's usually a facade. But as long as the facade keeps up, we should be fine. Especially one so pleasing.

Yes.

They share some growls, I suppose. There's also overlap with Castlavania.

That's something you can take with you. A simple square wave, just very low, instant Metroid.

I'd love it for DEMONGHOST69 to be my front guy, he seems to know his shit.

Also, who's to say they don't have a web presence by now, how else do you think influencers work?

Rad thick chords in the intro come on like a rock power ballad. I like that punchy synth brass that comes in where the chords drop out. Bigger sound this week. Nice!

Breh, after this week, I was looking forward to those birdies. Before a minute passed, I got my wish.

The generator's just flexing here.

I should still add some more.
