Beautiful City

By Devieus on November 10, 2018 10:30 am

Nothing really special about this one other than that I'm using Amsterdam in the gadget for once, the sound effects machine. It's actually kinda lackluster in its sound effects bank.

As for the chiptune part, it's partly solo percussion and partly some stuff in Bb, or whatever the equivalent mode would be in C, but mostly it's a nice variety of stuff. It was my birthday and I felt like doing it.

Neat ideas here - and Happy Birthday!

It does seem to have a celebratory vibe to it.  Hope your birthday rocked!

Thanks. That's me, the idea guy.

It was a work day, but it was pretty okay still.

Very catchy! with the title, it conjured up a build mode in a Sim City-like game, with different motifs for different zoning types. As you said, very nice variety, but also a cohesive one, every part flows nicely into the next!

Like that demented brass band-kazoo mix in the beginning, and really like the development.

I guess that's one way to put air horns. I like your idea of the zoning types.

Thanks, never a dull moment in this city. That brass band is just samples going in a pattern.

Like those swanky swing horn hits. Makes it a party! Good sounds all around. Fun and catchy.  Hope you had a good birthday!

great workout! Has undoubtely the urban vibe as you said... great stuff for a travel video... much more apt and interesting than the usual symphonic schlock that they often use. I like!

That would be one interesting travel video.

It does kind of remind me of your old stuff, I still feel like Namec Asp's story isn't quite complete.

It's okay, I appreciate us being friends at all.

You should totally do it.

Really catchy melodies especially those sassy horns smile  Nice drum work too especially towards the end as it counters the melody.

The sass cannot be contained.

It was actually the same instrument, but through clever automation the drum became a lead at times.
