garden

i was going to write some sap song with a metaphor about trying to make a garden in life but all that's growing is weeds, blah blah boohoo.

Ended up with this cornucopia of a song with time changes and shifts in direction(4/4/ into 3/4/ into 5/4)...I sort of wrote it as I went, like my previous song ALL GOOD. It's a fun strategy for tackling a song when out of ideas to make this sort of song with songs within the song.  Lazy but fun.  enjoy

edit: i just got kontakt and HAD to try out session horns, so that's why there's horns in this smile

Horns makes sections kind of epic. smile . Very fun track.

Drumming is whats up! This is great man. A mix of all of your styles which is awesome to hear.

Whoa. When part 2 comes in!!! This RIPS.

Nice job on this dawg.  Definitely takes some twists and turns.  Sound great

this goes and goes

some super catchy parts in here, great guitar work

Hey bro, have you considered Roundup for the weeds?  Haha, love the description.  Cool one this week man, this thing goes all over the place.  That interlude with just bass and drums is cool as shit too, great way to change up the dynamics and feel.

He is back at it again. Well done dude. Lets let this one sit for a few weeks then I'll get on the drums again haha. Even though you did a pretty damn good job already!

round up fucked my yard plants up the first year i had my house because i didnt know what i was doing.  that shit is strong as hellllllll.

this strategy i've used twice during writers block is a lot of fun.  i'll just write a simple pattern in the beginning and extend it a few sections, than basically start a new song section after changing the timing of the project...when i'm done or bored or out of ideas for that section, ill change the timing in the project again and go from there.  its like musical improv when im making it...fun and a change of pace...less likely to put the guitar down and fuck off sidetracked with something else in my scatterbrain

Yeahhh this is very epic, I absolutely love the writing. The horns sound great. I might have to try that time signature trick, I've been in the market this week for things to shake up my process. Cheers heart

This garden grows some amazing beats.

YEAH. that is a tasteful fuzz on the guitar after 40 seconds. and and epic ending. excellent post-rock.

I can't do the math on your timing changes but love the switch ups! I like the third section around 1:55 where it sounds like brass and guitars! Wall of sound!
