A Gentleman's Lasagna

This is very silly and very not cool. I think that I should hate this but I don't somehow. I want you to listen to it but I think I should apologize. Anyway.

This one began with a little chord/bass germ. And for some reason sticking to CR-78 drums seemed like a good challenge, in light of my recent sins against percussion. So these were my completely arbitrary made-up restrictions:
* The only drum sounds are CR-78 samples.
* No editing, pitch shifting, enveloping, etc. on those samples.
* No overdrive, reverb, delay, etc. on the drums
* Light EQ on drums as a whole, but not individually.

It got silly real fast and I leaned into it, for better or worse.

Thanks for apologizing. You didn't need to.

Because this is ridiculously good. I love all your stuff. Many layers of awesome: chords, vocals, bass, the grooves. Also wtf this double time??? You're crazy.

There's a lot of humor in this track. So many unexpected sounds that come in at unexpected moments that are really fun musical jokes. Sometimes a bit banal, but a lot ot the time devilishly clever. That speedup in the middle is downright insane. You can try to hide your musicality, but it still shines through the cacophony. Absolutely the right kind of bonkers, you had me laughing and smiling the whole way through.
Also special shoutout to the funky chords and the Louis Cole-like bass lines, lovely stuff.

We should all embrace the silly a bit more.
Nice ever-evolving-changing-sometimes-silly track!
