first warm day of the year

By ddmm64 on February 27, 2022 11:26 pm

I live in the east coast(ish). Winter wasn't the worse I've seen by any stretch, but there were plenty of awfully cold days. The first glimmer of spring, as always, filled me with joy. I started this song on my M8 the first warm day of the year, and a chill synthwavey tune seemed fitting. Unfortunately, like that stupid groundhog predicted, winter isn't over, but fretting about weather seems silly given the events of the last few days. Here's hoping warmer and more peaceful days come soon.

Röyksopp vibes for some reason, downloading this for late-night drives, absolutely awesome and I love it -- 2:15 simplicity is goddam magical heart

Thank you, sou much big_smile I'm a simple man, still learning the ropes, so I try not to bite off more than I can chew. I actually drove with a friend to the nearest taco bell and enjoyed some fast food that night, just taking in the sweet air of (almost) spring. Have to enjoy the little things.

heart I had Taco Bell tonight, brrrah!

Lovely tune. Love the vibes

I love it! I like both the song development and the changing texture of the instruments. Great work!

Sweet vibes from this!

They do get credit for using that dx7 preset as their advertising tag *BONG*

This is a perfect track for the creeping hints of spring we're getting here in Japan. Really nice.

This track does sound synthwave-y, though maybe a laid back version. The toms with the reverb and the synth lines will do that. This is very nice! I especially like the section from 1:24 with its heavy bass.

This is a very comfy song

Yeah, I actually do like those tom sounds! A lot of synthwave sounds a bit too formulaic to me, but plenty of songs in the genre I love too. I guess like any genre. And yes, I like how that part came out too, it was one of those serendipitous "what if I use this patch for that sequence, hmm not bad" things.
