Prepared Guitar #1

By David_A on February 9, 2014 11:10 pm

Yet another different thing … Last week, I came across some prepared guitar stuff again and decided to try some of those techniques for this week's submission. Everything you are hearing was created with one or more prepared guitar techniques, no bass guitar, keys, synths or drums of any kind were used. Instrument of choice was my Tellie, as usual. Manipulations include third bridge, magnets, cord and more. Assorted mallets and fx pedals were also used. Everything was improvised, I recorded each track first take without editing any mistakes out. All I did after the initial recording was mixing and mastering. Took me about 4 hours total to do this. Hope you guys like it, thanks for listening.

Very creative. I dig prepared instruments quite a lot

I really like the feel of this. Nice work.

very effective improvisation and sound setup for this, kind of floated by, subtly

Excellent work!  I was inspired last night (after a gig) coincidently to experiment more with prepared guitar.  How many layers did you put down?  I really like the warmth of this.  Lovely.

Wow. Amazing atmoshpere!

I'm on a trip to wherever....
