Sleek Ammonia

By Dank Receptor on February 22, 2026 3:28 pm

Going for weird modular on this Sunday.

- dubby, repetitive bass line with intermittent modulations (MakeNoise DPO, modulated by Maths)
- folksy, monotonous beat (ALM Squid)
- steady, crisp field recording (snow on umbrealla)
- clangy, occasional spring reverb (Music Thing Spring)

Apologies in advance. Peace out.

I clicked this song because of the cat piss (ammonia) and I stayed for the funky modulated bass. I like that it sometimes sounds like a demon is talking to me through the track.

I love the cavernous feel, so dark and spacious. Nice deep bass and, yessss, modular spring reverb used to good effect.

Didn't expect DPO to be this competent of an acid line provider, so glad you demonstrate it here! Always thought of it more as an experimental complex oscillator. It's tamed well here. And that sequenced line is properly hypnotic. Five minutes well spent here!

Sounds like would playwhike exploring a cave system formed inside an ancient mass of abandoned electronics

Haha, it does actually! Thanks! big_smile

Thanks parappayo! yeah, found some weird sounds from modulating the reverb like that.

Cheers, RPLKTR! Yeah taming is the right word, my next couple of attempts at the DPO didn't really work out. big_smile
