Deaf Squirms

I'm still doing start-of-year maintenance in the studio, repairing gear, reorganizing setups, rewiring wires. As a consequence I ended up having a closer look at my Eurorack this week.

For a long time I've had the intention of using Mutable Instruments Frames as a CV controllable four way FX send bus, and I finally got around to it. The idea is to be able to sequence the FX sends, and after a bit of faffing about I got it working nicely with four different FX:
- Music Thing Spring Reverb
- Mutable Instruments Clouds
- Boss PS3 Pitch Shifter/Delay (via ADDAC Pedal Integrator)
- MXR Carbon Copy (via ADDAC Pedal Integrator)

So, basically a dub setup. Nice.

ALM Squid Salmple does the Amens, Makenoise DPO does the FM bass. Live performance (including shouting into the spring reverb tank) recorded live to six tracks in Ableton. Spazzzy edits done in post.

Thanks for listening, take care!

wow! Very cool!

Beautiful glitchy drums...

Really interesting idea for a setup, its kinda blowing my mind...

This is extremely snazzy. considering this is performed live - this is pretty amazeballs. big respect on getting this out a modular rig

303 tag tribe

THIS IS BRILLIANT. I was looking at getting a matrix mixer for a while to to do some sends stuff with modular. This is a much better setup idea. A nice selection of effects to send too as well smile

I might need to look into getting Frames now.

Those "reversed" reverbs - (and all the kind of reverbs with fxs used) are super cool.)

Even if almost only those crazy drums, super interesting to listen to all track long.

Thanks for listening, doomscrolling! Yeah, happy to get this out of the modular, think I'm starting to like the Squid Salmple.

LOL, reused last weeks tags and forgot to edit that out. No 303 this week, but it's back next week. big_smile

Cheers, buddy! Yeah, Frames has a few good uses on tap. I guess you could easily do the same thing with a few VCAs, envelopes and gates, but that would mean quite a few more patch points and cables.

Hey djippy, cool of you to lend an ear and leave a comment! The reverse/pitched reverbs are mostly from the Clouds module.
