I just discovered the egypt mode

By Dandy on January 5, 2020 8:25 am

Things learnt from this track:
1. I need to start maybe a few days before the deadline instead of "due tomorrow do tomorrow"
2. There is a name for this scale and it's called the Phrygian Major Mode
3. I have a pattern in how I structure songs and I want to change that for the coming weeklybeebles

yo this is sassy as all get ouuuut! nice use of the phrygian scale (btw if u use the minor variant it becomes klezmer/gypsy jazz mode)

Really enjoy seeing you here. Really funky keep up the good work.

Fun smile Would fit well with a platformer taking place on the pyramids big_smile

I don't remember much about the scale, but I do remember it was quite nice. So is this song.

Looking further into it, it's the second mode of the major pentatonic scale, so I guess that's why it's so nice. It wouldn't be a phrygian though, those would be heptatonic.

Nice to see some less conventional scales, and chiptunes blend fantastically with the phrygian scale!

Yesss, i love those egyptian feeling modes
great execution
