Wizard Needs Food

Ok, a bit of a weird one this week…

I’ve gotten into medieval stuff… So, rather than buy a TE EP-1320 Medieval, I thought I’d get some early music samples cheap from Bolder sounds to try out. Couldn’t be bothered with the hassle of going through a DAW, so wondered what they would be like going straight into the m8.

I got me self into a mess with trying to tune the samples and haven’t got a clue how to do proper medieval music, so let’s call this an experiment…

Whole thing made from samples (also a first for me I think): lute from Bolder sounds, bodhran and tambourine from Cinematic Textures for circuit tracks, strings from VSCO. All made in m8 with liberal use of chorus, delay and reverb.

It’s turned out ok, if not at all what I would normally do, nor necessarily what I want to do…

Remember…don’t shoot food!

This turned out pretty great as a huge experiment!I I didn’t hear any tuning issues, so you seemed to have solved that issue neatly. This is pretty dark and epic - cinematic medieval.

Nice track - I could listen to more of this  smile

This sounds rich & lush - very cool! It puts me in mind of some of Paul Hartnoll's "Ideal Condition" solo album, which is so goooooood, with maybe a touch of some of Joe Hisaishi's older image album soundtrack releases.

glad i'm not the only one absolutely SWEATING over the 1320

this is absolutely gorgeous and literally what I would buy the 1320 to make!!!

awesome job!
