I Think It’s Time To Leave

Back to using the m8 for generative stuff again (tbh it’s the easy option after a long week, but I am genuinely interested in the possibilities here!).

Only samples and no beats… Piano samples shared by Mare on the m8 discord, strings samples taken from the VSCO Community Edition. The piece is in c minor pentatonic with liberal use of random and chance (set to around 50%) on each note. 4 tracks for piano with different octaves as starting points, doubling the notes per track (1 note on track 1, 8 on track 4). 2 tracks of strings. Brought the tracks in sequentially.

Also liberal use of the built in chorus, delay and reverb, with an lfo on the volume of the strings to help the fade in and out. 40 bpm to let it ring out.

I quite like how this one turned out, feels maybe like an introspective part of a thriller or horror soundtrack…

Yes very moody and seconding the soundtrack vibes!
