Windgather

By Daisy on February 25, 2024 5:46 pm

I am looking forward to getting out on my bike, when the winter lets up.   I have several rides that are of different lengths such as CowLoop (so named because of the 5 cows that greet me!)pequeno (the shortest-2 miles) and CowLoop grande(5 miles) which adds a downhill visit to a Lake Michigan beach.
This song is about my favorite route called Windgather. Windgather ride is a 7 mile rural tour through vistas that are simply eye candy. My Windgather route includes both CowLoops plus a long stretch of farmland and the edge of the Windgather nature preserve.   I course along two-lane roads bisecting farmer's fields and then past Windgather, the re-wilded woods.
Breath taking beauty-very Middle-Earth looking!
In this piece you can hear the wind and the pedals, my eyes finding the old familiar sights, and my soul finding it's place.

I am still waiting for Spring!

I love how expressive the strings are in this, awesome work! Is this synthesized or did you actually play all the parts?

Is the fast bit at 0:33 when the cows are chasing you?

Pretty fun journey

Thanks for listening and that you liked my expression! I did not play the parts--I compose and arrange on Musescore 4.

The cows only look at me, especially one of them as I ride past. That fast bit, felt like the wind and me pedaling.  When there is an east wind off the lake it especially exhilarating. Thanks for your comment, and joining me on my journey!

this sounds so good
really feels like riding a bike as the snow thaws in Michigan (hi from across the lake in WI!)

Hi! I remember you!  Thanks for listening!  You do know what it is like here!

I reckon you could take pictures, then tell a little story with every picture taken through song.
Nice and breezy song.
