Once Upon a Time

I was the Storytime Lady at a bookstore-- and this reminds me of those times.  The beginning declaration is getting all the kids settled on the floor and beginning to read to them while I pointed to the pictures. The children's faces would change as the story progressed. They would get soooo involved. It starts peacefully with a Nature/outdoors feel to it-- then whimsical and mischievous.  The key changes represent the exciting part of the story; the meter change for two measures is the comedy and the recapitulation is the satisfying ending to the story. I enjoyed these Storytimes, and always had a cadre of rhythm instruments for the kids to play (especially shaky eggs) at various times in the story.
I often accompanied songs with my guitar and encouraged them to create drama with simple instruments. I do miss these Storytimes.

I'm invested in this story, what would this one be about, perhaps a meta story about your time as a storytime lady?

Lovely story and nice composition to tell that story! Would be nice to hear a snippet of the storytelling with the guitar and shakers! I bet it's sweet!

Nice composition and fun track description.

A beautiful story told here. I feel like I'm sitting at storytime. I would love to hear it in real-time
