Lamentation Chromatique

The descending chromatic scale with underlying rhythmic, hymn-like block chords cast a gentle, peaceful yet tragic feeling. There is very little change in the dynamics of this piece, however lots of variation in the speed of nearly every measure-- so you can't dance to it. I did this unintentionally, but it does seem to mimic human conversation and expression. Sometimes when we talk, we speed up, then when we summarize we slow down to a conclusion with a heavy sigh.
