Apple Picking

Again, an old friend listened to this piece and heard this:
"Sounds like the change of seasons from summer to fall when people go apple picking and they take their dog with them and they have a wagon with 2 kids riding in it.
Can’t you just see the little kids running ahead and the baby’s in the wagon with the dog supervising? I can see it plain as day. The sun is out birds are chirping people are hustling to buy expensive apple pies and apple things in the barn…."
I seldom know what I have composed, until I am done. With this one, it vaguely reminded me of how I used to watch my 3 kids going into that deep state of play-- where the world disappears. The 4th measure is deliberate silence- a little glitch in the time flow, where you adjust your vision. I think I miss my kids.
