Whispa (Elektron Digitakt)

By cTrix on January 14, 2018 4:16 pm

My first Elektron Digitakt.  Written in bed over past few days.  Recorded in the studio in a live take.

Using all factory sounds for now until I get used to how to program the unit.  It's quite fun for now learning with a super simple set of samples.  Conditional trigs + fill triggs are rad!

sick! can't wait to hear what you do with it once you start adding your own samples.

I just love how you take any device out there and make it your own man. Rad groovy tune.

tight little machine!

Yess, bouncy and rich! Diggin' it!

Love the bassline

Funky fresh. great submission.

funky big_smile that thing is so cool big_smile glad it's in good hands!

That's a cool device! I enjoyed the video accompaniment.

Phattest bassline I've heard thus far, groooving.

sweetttt work man

Nice jam! You already sound pretty comfortable with the Digitakt.

cool bean

excellent use of a new medium.  this is a really nifty groove

shuffly snare rolls are A++

amazing stuff, great programming

Exactly my point. Saw this one previously on Youtube, so I woke myself up with it along my alarm smile

I really like how the middle section with the wandering melody reinforces the more straight ahead melodic sections

super captivating to see when you mute and unmute triggers, and play around with stuff, since this is incredibly similar to my live working method

like, I usually do fills, filter sweeps, muting tricks and stuff like that on the 1st and 4th bar, but you were doing a bunch of stuff planted firmly in the middle of the 3rd bar, which juxtaposes nicely against the 4/4 but would be confusing if the beat was more syncopated

confusing long story short, I learnt something '_-

sounds really dope!
love that bass so much!! Deep and warm and incredibly funky

This makes me want a Digitakt so bad. Well done Chris!

Stylish sound
possible listening for long time

Love this. Nice and clear sounds

Nice build. Great work!

Good stuff, looking forward to more Digitakt jams.

thank you so much for including the video, those are very inspiring. You made me remember I forgot about fill mode! Totally a must for live performance, my little dub would've benefited from it for sure.

Freakin' love this and the double hand claps are ace, super clever filter work.... how did you make the snare roll at 00:58? conditional trigs?

Anyway, very inspiring thanks again big_smile

Holy shit !

Amazing production!

Wow, sounds great!

jawnloaded heart

Heck yeah, this is groovy as hell.

Awesome bass groove and jam!  The digitakt looks really fun too.  You might like 'Red Means Recording''s youtube channel, he has a few digitakt jams.

Ooooh nice! I've been planning on picking up an Octatrack, but this sorta makes me wonder about getting a Digitakt instead. This track makes me think the Digi is more flexible than I thought it was.

Maybe it's the use of the factory samples but I wouldn't pick this as your work, super refreshing and interesting!

wooooooooooow
