Sun on me

By cTrix on January 9, 2022 11:52 pm

Guess who forgot Weekly Beats was due this morning?!  The world must have been trying to tell me because it's been raining for days and at 9:40am the sun started beating onto my blinds, heating my bedroom up to un-sleepable conditions.  For context, Weekly Beats is due 10am Monday morning (in AU) so I glanced at my phone saw "WB Due" and sprang outta bed faster than someone ejecting a burning waffle from a toaster.

I'd worked on a bootleg remix using the M8 this week - so I muted the vocal line (which was the only used element from original tune) and pumped out a quick master given I'm on holiday with only a pair of HD25's.  I like how it's held up; it was always meant as a stand-alone tune anyway. it's just a bit, well, short!  But the idea is to have this as a live track to perform on the M8 anyway.

For context this is what the m8 looks like:

---------------------------------------------------------------
BONUS This links to an alt version of the tune with vocals which will self-destruct in 7 days!

Ps. I've got family commitments today but plan on doing a massive listen though to WB tonight!  Can't wait to hear what you've all come up with this year big_smile

With the vox adds quite a different dynamic.  I've mastered it pretty hard (wanted that late 1990s FM radio glue compression sound) Cheers!

The M8 is your most powerful gear.

Oh wow that intro synth just threw me into the stratosphere, those drums are absolutely peerrrfect! Great stuff smile

Love the breakbeat! The sounds you get on the M8 are awesome.

Classic cTrix but twice as wide with those 4 extra channels

by the way (this is rather random), in Norwegian it sounds like the voice in that think break is saying “Jeg mente det ikke” ‘i did not mean it’ hehe

they call him c trix because sometimes you've got to c what trix he's hiding on the m8

that groove is something else smile

I love hearing what people are making with the M8 here. This is awesome.

WOW very cool bootleg edit, thanks for posting it.

I was really enjoying the track, but then when you cut up the chord order, I lost my mind!  So glad you are back.

Wow!  Thanks so much for the comments.  I did this track then got super busy with flying between cities, landing straight back into work - but I've finally had time to go and check out a bunch of al y'all music and there's been some amazing stuff. :-)

Amazing! It's awesome how much you can do with the M8. Might have to get one!
