Soulcakes

An old Gibson copy (Japanese) from the early 80's that someone gave to me 2 years ago.  It has sat in a case ever since.  Hence I fixed up the electronics enough to get it working... however the internation & setup is completely wrong... and then I put light strings on it!  Hence the tuning loses it up high (sorry!)   Bass also out.  Playing a bit sloppy too (eeak!)  But if we were all super an4l we wouldn't be doing weekly beats now would we?!!  Had to stand in EXACTLY the right position so it didn't buzz like a mofo too... hehehe...  I had a smile on my face for a lot of this recording.

I hope to do more in this direction in the future with a Nord (or real B3) and a singer too if I can.  Maybe pop out 100 x 7"'s for fun and see what happens :-]

(ps.  SHIT!! Was supposed to do a FADE OUT and forgot!!!)  Also, didn't master this very much - wanted to let the transients on the valves come though naturally... but maybe should have squashed it with an SSL plug or something?  So much still to learn.  (update: Better version at http://ctrix.net/wb/cTrix-WB49-Soulcakes(draft2).mp3)

That is cool funk. Well produced as usual!

Sweet sounds.  Like that B3 organ.  Guitar has a good colorful sound. Nice lively production with some good change ups.

^^ Thanks!  I played the B3 on my QY70 keys!!    It was a bit annoying :-P

You make an epic one man funk-jazz band !
great work smile

It really really needs some vocals.

So good man! Really diggin the vibe. I think the guitar sounds pretty good actually.

epic as always!!! man I am really going to miss weeklybeats, it's been a fast year I've got to say.

Nicely done.  Even though the guitar wasn't set up at all, the actual tone is pretty sweet.  Production is solid too.

groooovy. Chair dancing in the office again.
