So tired I just don't care

By cTrix on July 15, 2012 7:03 pm

Just hit a point where I was too tired to continue on this.  Wish I could have added more layers and also mixed it better.  Bass I think is maybe up too loud, I've left the reverb off the drums by mistake and the guitar gets buried in the mix.  Also the vocals were in one take (just hit loop and layered them) and I kept running out of breath!  Need to get more fit to record this shit.

I'd started another track this week (jazz fusion), but it flopped big time, so at around 2am I sat staring at my guitar feeling defeated,  and played this instead.  I guess it just goes to show music sometimes takes you where it wants to emotionally and there's no point trying to take control.

Hey, sounds great!  The mix has a lot of energy and is very clear.  Great vocal layering really makes the track.  You sound fried and probably having a distorted perspective.  Awesome track!

This is cool. Sloppy? I can't hear that. If everything was metronomically accurate all the time, we wouldn't have swing and we may as well just leave computers to play all our music for us.

I really like it - agreed though, probably too tired to hear the awesome

Thanks guys.  It's more that my fingers couldn't hold down the chords and were bending the strings. And kept falling off the fret board! Fair call I'm in flat tuning but still - it's like going back to primary school!  Because I never practice.  I might shove a spare electric by my bed and do half hour a day when I wake up or something.

This is fucking awesome dude. I cant tell that it is sloppy (wat) but I guess maybe to your incredibly high standards it is. Really enjoyed it though.

such a dreamly song. i love this stuff, amazing vocals. u best. that's all. thanks)

the title really resonates with a lot of my weeklybeats experience haha - the vocals sound fantastic and really nicely harmonized for one take

lol I love how just about all of your songs are "sloppy" and end up being great tongue nice work buddy

What Vinpous said. And I really like the vocals.

I love the backing vocals in this.  They add a fantastic texture to the song

Excellent! very good work!

this is great! reverb is one of the most frivolous of effects, so no loss there. seems like the mix is spot on to me. funny how when you fail at one thing, something better ends up being the result.

wow this is fantastic. love the vocal work it just brings it up to an awesome level

Holy shit, Chris! heart

i like everything about this. everything!

the drums sound rad..  some of the vocal harmonies are off. but whatever.. great job for being exhausted and only one take wink
