Midnight at Piano (SNES)

By cTrix on April 20, 2014 7:03 pm

This is another Super Nintendo track... raw output (excuse the 100hz hum).  We now have envelopes and looping samples!!  Listen to that super-high samplerate piano I squeezed into 3kb... ;-D

All running solo in the 64KB of APU (Audio processor) RAM and utilising 0% CPU time because it just says "play" then waits.  It's the sound processor of the SNES being pushed to it's limits!  Now with RLE on the pattern data for more complex tunes in less memory...   Mind you, tool still doesn't have copy / paste / block delete / undo... just the ability to add one note at a time.  Priorities !

Stereo panning is done on hardware.  I simply added a bit touch of verb to this to get it to sound a bit fuller; otherwise untouched :-)

GODDAMN

I SO want to play this game!  wink

Damn, where my dancing knee socks at!

Great work on dev + env!
any room for graphic routines yet? wink

this is some motherflipping Tim Follin SNES-era caliber jamz right there.  can't help but wonder how much crazier music in that console's lifetime would have been with the right sample-massaging tools.

You're fuckin insane dude this is awesome

OUT. OF. CONTROL. loved it man nice work on all accounts!
