Lightreach (Roland PMA-5 pocket composer)

Take one 90's era Roland PMA-5 pocket composer... and spend Easter sleeping with it... and this is what you get!  Let's just say that User Interfaces have come a loooooong way since 90's PDA-style pocket tech...
.
Made completely with the PMA-5 ... I did do a few sweeps at takes and ended up doing a live take without the drums and doing the drums in a second take for mixing reasons (floating a few elements in a bus for mastering).  I'm using the onboard Reverb and Chorus but did on the bells / banjo do a little bit of pong delay in post.  Still quite impressed with this little fella tho!  Makes me smile.  $45 on Ebay.  Well, $60 with postage. ;-)

fantastic!

you mad bastard.

A veritable jam. I'm liking that shamisen > u <

Such mastery. Faved.

I CANNOT believe what I am seeing.  Incredible!

That was kind of sick at a lower tempo too wink

whooooa, that thing is wild. thanks so much for doing the video, super interesting to see it in action. always impressed by your ability to master various anti-intuitive retro tech. resulted in a super fun tune in the end!

Haha - thanks guys.  Yeah - it's a mission to use this f**king thing!  But fun and even tho the tracks are simple, it's quite satisfying to push though and finish a track with it.

Fantastic, heard of this unit before, but never actually “heard” it, sounds great, glad you were able to work through it

Quite impressive feat you did here, mate! I saw one of them used by Vince Clarke in his Erasure era...

That metronome, sounds like your meal in the microwave is ready wink

What will be the next nearly obsolete obnoxious interface you're going to use to make your new killer track?

What a lovely baby. Thanks goodness she's legal.
