Flurp

Feeling pretty uninspired at the moment.

Threw this messy half arsed deep house tune with way too much repitition and it's 4:30am and I can't be fucked fixing it anymore.  Or finishing it.  Moog is out of tune (for a change) drums need a ton of work, etc.

Up it goes!  Maybe I'm gonner quit after week one at this rate :-P

I like those reverby stabs, and that signature cTrix funk bass big_smile

Ok, so you're stellar at your best and really good at your worst. Keep bringing the half assed shit!

Wow, very nice track!

Downloading for my new best tunes of 2016! heart

TFW ctrix posts a "half arsed tune" and it bangs hard ._.
In all seriousness, please don't. I want more of this every week this year.

You're always an inspiration cTrix!

whoops sorry chris, i couldn't hear your text description over these legit chunky 90's grooves.  put me in the "none the wiser" camp along with the rest!

So happy to see your name here haha nice track man!

even when you're bad you're good tongue

Really, cTrix... With a lot of love: get it together, man! This shit's tight and you're crying smile

what an awesome way of starting 2016! With a banger nonetheless! Great to have you back!!!

The Funktrix knows how, also, I'll echo chamber some peeps. cmon. plz be here next week! --
... You totes neurotic perfectionist, if the all nighters are killing you, just jam on one of the 6 guitars you own for a few minutes with a KaosPad (and add a DMG backing track or something) cuz its still you.
tis good to have you here again smile

I second this. This is legitimately great.

Yeah! Sweet synth groove. Hell of a start!

Insert bit wish's glow sticks

Dude, your half assed shit kills most of the dance/funky stuff posted.  Glad you're back.

sometimes the autopilot half assed plan F jumble turns out to be gold big_smile

Only thing that needs work is your confidence! This is dope as.

Also - the track I'm working on at the mo is called Vlurp, wtf? Have we been smoking the same stuff?

What can I say that hasn't already been said? Faved.

awwww yeeeee! big_smile

which moog you using?

Hell yes actually.

Going through thousands of comments on this post...finally I'm here. Glad you still making every week challenge. And i do enjoy this work. So is it amiga tune? I guess if you use different program (probably) to create new tune that could save us from not hearing your tunes next week! Never give up haha

Ahhh thanks peeps.  The feedback / positive comments appreciated as I wasn't having the best of days (or weeks) when I made this!  Just felt like it could have been something more; the sequencing could have been much better, but I'll work on it / finish it when I have time.

Nope.  DAW (Reaper) with drum samples, Korg Triton and Moog Sub37.

Hey Seb; it was a borrowed a Sub37 but I didn't get time to play with it because work.  It's weird; it plays two notes at once... so not quite polyphonic... more like duophonic.  Wish I'd sampled & played more of it - but just ran out of time!  The out of tune is from manually stretching notes in Reaper and not being able to hear if it's in or out of tune (I probably need a better bass trap in the studio).  The new moogs are uncannily stable and keep tuning.  Although I'm back to only the Prophet now... so prepare for lots of tuning fail!!

Must be!  Although I can't smoke a SID half as well as you can - seriously was blown away by your skills on that one.  Talking of which; lets hang come SqSounds!

lol - fair 'enough Bryan.  Don't get me wrong - I was into the bass groove; just the sequencing let the track down and it was too late to keep working on it.  Maybe I'll do some live groovebox jams and video them; at least it happens in realtime!!

Yeah yeah yeah. :-P  Do double neck guitars count as one or two guitars? :-P  But I'll get onto that at some point when I get more time.

Maybe I should start before Sunday this week eh?  Good luck everyone.  Looking forward to WK II

So flurpy!

Awesome!

Have you used a Mother-32? Thoughts?

Very nice and with that bass the track title "flurp" makes perfect sense

Nothing wrong a little flurpy derp. Even if it's not at full ctrix capacity - it's a fun track!

Don't worry - the next cTrix WB is full cTrix hands on deck!

Fllluhuup.  Yeah; that's what I heard.

Love that piano riff!

This basically sums up all of my commentary on this track.

Dig it! Those reverby plucks seal the deal. It's not as uninspired as you think.

This. Perfect.

Also lol at CTrix being uninspired but still delivering top quality tracks =P

what the hell chris; this is huge smile
