E+E (Documentary Soundtrack)

By cTrix on January 19, 2024 11:25 am

Soundtrack to a mini documentary I'm working on.  Well, the "replacement" sections I didn't like over the supplied stock music.  I thought I'd end up writing a lot more than this... but I only ended up needing 90 seconds worth.  Because it has cues for voices and things people are saying, it doesn't make a whole load of sense but hey :-P   It's also mixed in 5.1 (and here in glorious stereo)

So this is my Weekly Beats this week!  A thing I made.

Always cool to hear ppl score stuff for other projects while they're trying to wrestle with the question of "do i try to make music reflect 'my style', or do i step back stylistically to serve the project's broader vision?".  The last third is vibez!!

Quite a lot happening in 100 seconds! I like the orchestral vibe suddenly turning into a Fallout soundtrack.

Deeply Evocative! heart

the man doesn't miss

Wow this is nice. The string pad progression is lovely, that ambient stereo effect woven into it at 0:45 was a great touch. Love the chromatic piano tumbling into different modes on the way down.
What do you use for strings if you don't mind me asking?

It really keeps your attention glued to whats happening. Id say you nailed it in a documentary soundtrack sense and even for weeklybeats its super unique and nice. Its always a pleasure hearing what you come up with

Nice one

And you are not telling us what the documentary is about?? haha I'm super invested now! I need to know!

Love the mood for this cue.  The effects on the piano are amazing.

This is beautiful, what a wonderful journey in sound!

lush and warm! the movements really evoke different emotions, I can only imagine what would be happening on screen! hope we get to find out when the documentary drops! wink

V nice compo! Also interested in the docu heart

This sounds incredible!  Tell us about the documentary when you can.

some really nice bits, cool to hear this kind of work from you!

"Watch as the Australian Musician sleeps in his natural habitat.  Unbeknownst to him, he will wake up in a panic and write a song on a handheld electronic music device.  He does this for reasons unknown.  Next week he will do the exact same thing."

This is very pretty. I like those bouncing sonar piano sounds at the start, I should check that out.
