I thought I would try something with some vocals this week so I whipped up this little tune. Mostly guitar-driven I also used my trusty home-made water bottle and popcorn tin pseudo-drum kit for percussion. This is still just my second recording using Reaper so I'm still feeling things out. I tried to experiment a little bit with the production. By experimenting I mean utilizing some of the built-in effects without really knowing exactly what they are and tweaking various levels without really knowing what the heck I'm doing. It might possibly have ended up more on the error side of trial and error, but I had fun messing around nonetheless. Two weeks down. Just fifty more to go!

dude this is fantastic! I love those guitars and vox. and It sounds like you got the hang of reaper. I hit repeat after it ended
Your experiments were a success, sounds good to me
The tin returns. Messing with dials is basically science.
I would say this is trial and great success! Love the grunge feel, takes me back
You punk! It works great for me. really garage rock with catchy vocal lines over it. Rock.
you made a big step forward exploring reaper, I can say. Keep it up. This is my favorite song so far. Did you use loops or do you still make one-takes???
The old trusty water bottle and popcorn tin hey?! Winning! Has some cool 90s garage band grunge vibes... 50 weeks and counting!
It was only a matter of time before they made their return. Turns out it was week 2.

Yeah I got the basic gist I think, but there's room for lots of improvement.

Thanks! Appreciate that.

It is. Sometimes it feels more like mad science. Or weird science.

Thanks! The grunge feel was sort of a result of the experiments rather than my initial intentions, but I think it works!

Thanks! Rock forever!

All one takes so far. Might try to experiment with some loops at some point later this year.
Big fan of vocals!
this is a really cool song. very catchy vocals and I love the aesthetic.

Thanks! Super appreciate it.
Fun trip, love the vox and fuzzy fuzzy guitar, that lead line toward the end swirls around my head in good way. Great work!
Psychedelic and grungy, I really dig this! Great melodies
??? What‘s happend
Great track! The mix is well balanced... and i always love to hear you singing
great new wave type energy... I like especially the relentless krautrock beat this one has.
Catch catchy guitar progression and vocals. Could not make out all the lyrics, but love that yellowjacket saves the day!
Return of the tin! *breaks out coffee can to play along* The guitar def drives the whole track along with the catchy lyrics. I especially like that closing guitar line alongside the synthy warbles.

Thanks! I will try to do a decent amount of vocal tracks this year, but probably not every week.

Thanks! Just my bare-bones basic drumming, but glad to hear it works!
Awesome gif! Thanks!

I try my best to articulate when I sing but even I sometimes can't make out all the lyrics later. Might have something to do with the mix, too.

Hah, no, it's not you. I'm half deaf from playing in hardcore and punk bands in my ill spent youth. Your mixes and vocals are pretty clear. Didn't want to give you the impression it was your mix. But we can agree that Yellow jacket saves the day, right?

We can definitely agree on that.
Oh wow, I totally missed this track from last week. This reminds me of the sort of stuff I would listen to back in early high school, I'd sneak out my walkman when I was supposed to be sleeping and listen under the covers. Thanks for the memories!
