Zipperface

Hey Everyone and welcome back to WeeklyBeats!  As I mentioned in my updated bio, I'm switching over to Reaper as my DAW this year.  From what I can tell it looks like it's going to be really cool, but I've got lots to learn about it.  This here is my very first ever recording using Reaper.  As such, I tried keeping things fairly simple.  Just a drum machine, a bass line and a few guitars.  Oh yeah, I also recorded a little bit of zipping and unzipping my backpack.  It's nothing super fancy.  Didn't try to do anything crazy production-wise.  The main goal was to see if I could successfully record something using Reaper and get it to play back and it seems to have worked.  Like I said, I've got a lot to learn, but WeeklyBeats is a great opportunity to do so and I'm hoping I'll see a lot of improvement by the end of the year!  Looking forward to checking out all of your stuff.  You all are awesome an it's always super inspirational to see what you've cooked up.

Nailed it! I'm happy you're back for 2020! You always create the best samples, zipper is perfect!

Great to hear your stuff again. I hope enjoy the new workflow as much as I enjoyed that quirky melody.

This is the real deal... the fuzz bass creates a good drive. Those guitars are wicked! I like the nonchalant tunig of those, creates a good vibe. Creates a nice and nostalgic image of friends getting together in a shed to play some mean acid rock...Thanks!

sorry, double post that I seem not to be able to delete for some reason,  oh well smile

Hey man, great you are hitting the strings again. Hope you are getting into the singer/songwritermood again.
Maybe reaper helps you in the workflow. I will follow your improvement. Love the ending of this track.

Cockos reaper is great, cheap, super customizable, easy to save templates and tons of tutorial videos available. See you next week. Happy to hear some guitars smile .

good luck with the new workflow! off to a great start

Thanks!  It seems cool so far.  Just need to wrap my head around it a little more.

Awesome.  Yeah, it's fun to just jam out with some friends sometimes for sure.  And no worries on the double post.  smile

Thanks!  I'm sure I will definitely do some singer/songwriter type stuff over the course of the year.  I always like that stuff.

Yeah it seems like it's going to be awesome.  I've watched a couple really good online tutorials already and will probably watch some more to try to pick up some additional tips.  Thanks for listening!

Thanks!  I think it's going to be a positive change in the long-run after I get over the initial learning-curve hump.  Although I find there's always more to learn.  smile

Good to see you back man!
Nice sound from an other time wink
Reaper is my daw for years now and has most probably all you need... Maybe get the variety of sound vsts for mastering....
Doesn‘t sound as you need them right now

Very cool. Early morning city life montage worthy

It seems you've improved a lot in 2019, it's almost entirely in tempo and the sounds are as good as ever.

Welcome back, looking forward to hearing your tunes! This is great - zippers are so versatile! Yeah, agree WB is the best for learning new things and lots of inspiration.

Enjoying that super-wide stereo geetar!  The drumbeat is pleasing too and has a sorta compurhythm to it.  Nice work!

Welcome back! Loving the fuzzed out bass and zipper jamming.

I love those guitars, dude! happy new year

Thanks!  I'll have to look into that at some point.

I don't think I've ever recorded a zipper before.  I'm surprised that's gotten past me this long.  Yeah, looking forward to learning a lot this year.
