This is a great start! It's a little hard to listen to, though, mostly because you use the same chord for the entire song and make use of very few notes on the scale. Your melodies only ever use D, E, G, and A, and I think I heard an F# in the accompaniment, like, once. Keeping the listener interested and engaged in the song is super important, and that doesn't happen solely by switching instruments in the song. Give us some diversity!

That's a totally fair criticism.  I'm sure I will attempt some more complex melodies over the course of the year.  This was something I banged out very quickly just to get the ball rolling. Depending on time and motivation, I expect some weeks will probably be one-chord drones or grooves where others will be more fleshed out songs.  Thanks for listening and commenting though.  I appreciate it!

I think I double-tracked the drums and intentionally moved them slightly off-sync from each other.  I was feeling a bit under the weather at the time and recording fast, so I don't actually remember to be honest.
