Southern Skies Crossing

By Cosmic Cairns on September 25, 2018 9:36 pm

I just kind of found myself humming this melody one day and thought "Hey, I could probably turn that into a song!"  Also I got my first ever professional foot massage recently and they were playing this kind of ambient music that was perfect to zone out to.  The end of this song was sort of my attempt to try to recreate that feel, even though it really sounds nothing like it.  Also, I recommend getting a foot massage if you've never had one.  It was quite soothing.

Mellow. Love those doubled vocals.

I like the melody the piano plays on it's own towards the middle.  This gave me visions of a road trip montage smile  It has a nice uplifting feel to it.  Although I think a foot massage would end up with me laughing in tears smile  My shoulders tho, that's a whole notha story tongue

fantastic song! love the melodies and progression!

Thanks!  I was feeling pretty mellow this week, which was nice.

Thanks!  I'm not a very good piano player, but I can sometimes plink out a melody.  smile  My feet tend to be pretty ticklish, but there was really only one part of the massage that I remember tickling.  There were some other parts that felt kind of weird, but overall it felt really nice and relaxing!

  Hey thanks!  I appreciate that.

Enjoying that walking bass line and soothing harmonies. I'm too ticklish and would need a general anesthesia before foot message sad

Thanks!  I wasn't sure right at first if the bass line was too busy for this particular song, but then I decided I liked it.  Glad to hear it works.  Yeah, my dog likes to lick my feet sometimes and it tickles like all hell, but the massage overall wasn't too ticklish.

Oooh, I loved that piano, great melody and tone as well. Sweet song, put me in a good mood this morning smile and I second you on that foot massage advice, they rock!

Glad to hear I could help with a mood. Especially in the morning. Those can be rough.

This is a classic you. Nice one.

Thanks!  A classic me.  I like that.  smile

Very cool campfire vibe to this... I love sepecially the drawn out, reversed (?) tones in the end part. Great work!

Thanks!  Yeah there are a few reversed sounds at the end to add a little flavor but most of the drawn out sounds are guitars that I faded in with a pedal.

oh man this is gonna be in my head all day smile very catchy tune - isn't it fun when they haunt you till you get them recorded!?

Lovely, I want to go outside and walk around, very nice.

Yeah, that's the best when they get stuck in your head and almost "demand" to be recorded.

Thanks!  This probably would make pretty decent "walkin' around" music.  smile
