Quiet Part Loud

By Cosmic Cairns on March 3, 2020 12:50 pm

I just wanted to play with piling a bunch of electric guitar parts on top of each other.  I think there's about ten tracks of guitar in this plus some bass and then I added some wordless vocals for some texture.

I'm picturing you with a guitar like this but with several more necks on it, and you with several more arms! Frantic energy from the massive wall of guitars big_smile

I really love this. I do enjoy massive guitarwalls. Plus, you did it with a genius speed. It`s sounds like everyone is in a hurry. so nice.

Wow, big tapestry of sound! Something about the sonic assault of those relentless drums is very appealing to me. Saturated in big hall reverb. Love those melodic guitars wailing in the background in the big storm of guitars.  This is pretty good morning guitar therapy for my waking brain!

Agreed, there's something satisfying in the sound of stacked guitars. Ten though is impressive, it sounds great considering how much is going on. Nice!

That's an awesome image.  It would be fun to sprout extra arms once in awhile just for the purpose of making music.

I like guitarwalls, too, although I feel like I've gotten mixed results when I've attempted them in the past.  Still, every once in awhile I like to try to do it again just to see what happens.

Thanks!  Sometimes it just feels like you need a barrage of guitars.

Thanks!  At some point I'd like to get completely ridiculous and do like 100 tracks of guitar, just for the heck of it, but it seems like a lot of work.  Ten felt like a good amount for now.

You can not have too many guitars.

That is a lot of guitars. smile . Pretty cool. I'll have to layer some of the stuff we did record with Bertrude at some point.

I liked this but i definitely wanted the quiet parts louder. The wordless vocals sounded uper cool.

It's pretty fun.  You should definitely give it a try.

Thanks.  I felt like it needed a little something else so I threw those vocals in.

super fun!

MOAR GITARZ! yeah! Fun idea and sounds really cool. I get mesmerized in all those layers. yay for wordless vox, I'm a fan of those. cheers.

Sweet gif.  And it matches the socks I'm wearing today! I took a picture, but not sure how to post it here although I think this link will work...  https://drive.google.com/file/d/1sN-Zqw-qCOu1Sj7R0evA-mgWqkM8avMi/view?usp=sharing

Sometimes words are overrated.  And yay for guitar layers.

You made metal in the strictest sense of the word. I guess what it needs now is more guitars.

That would explain the headbangers that were hovering around while I was recording this...

Really like this c.c! There is an early album Paul Dempsey did called.... . .'Scared of Horses' if I recall... reminds of that ... COOL!

it rocks! I love hearing guitar on WB. the vocals were my favorite part.

I'm not familiar with Paul Dempsey, but I just found his Scared of Horses album on Youtube.  I'll have to check it out.

Thanks!  I've been kind of "feeling" the guitar this year and have been trying to incorporate it at least a little into a lot of my songs.  I feel like I've been hearing a little more guitar this year all over WB, which is also nice.

This is very exciting, even positively manic. The vocal additions work very nicely too. One of your best so far, I think. I am a great fan of krautrock and this has some of that drive too.

Thanks.  I've actually been listening to a bit of Can lately.  I'm nowhere near as technically accomplished as those guys were, but I'd like to think I'm absorbing a little bit of influence.

Nice wall of guitars!  The vocals had a nice mysterious touch.  Yais!

Thanks!  I liked all the guitars but felt like there needed to be some other kind of sound in there so just went with some vocals.

Yeah man this is sweet! Are some guitars are reversed? Sound is cool! Vocals are top... reminds of a german band i really loved in my youth smile

There's no reversed guitars, but I did play a couple tracks through an effects pedal with an extreme delay that kind of sounds reversed.
