Plutonian Sunset

By Cosmic Cairns on November 11, 2018 5:09 am

Just got back from a week in Maui.  It was super fun but I'm super exhausted after an overnight plane trip back and a long layover.  As such I'm not getting too fancy this week.  Just kind of whipped out this sort of ambient-ish thing and called it a week.  Looking forward to getting caught up on everyone's tracks!

Smartly done for "super exhausted." Faved.

This is rich and deep. I'm back for a 2nd listen! Sounds like a sweet vacation smile

Thanks!  Maybe there's something to be said for recording while tired.  Definitely no room to overthink things...

Vacation was incredibly awesome.  I'm already making plans for a bit more of a vacation-themed track for next week.

It's got that otherwordly space vibe for sure, with the raspy/ethereal shimmering pads like so many shooting stars. Very nice sunset smile

Neat one, cool far out vibe, enjoyed that on the headphones!

Thanks.  I was trying to just kind of space out while I did it.

Thanks!  I actually mixed that one on headphones...

Welcome back Big Kahuna! Mallhalla or whatever they say. What you playing there? Sounds like a squeeze box or reed instrument. This sounds like some serious cabaret music on the edge of forever level stuff.

Thanks!  Just found some cool spacey sounding settings on my keyboard and went to town.  I've got a ukulele-driven song in the works for next week!  Mahalo!

Has a very nice restrained but simultaneously epic quality to it. Orchestral, lush and organic... very picturesque, great stuff!

Thanks!  I like the description of restrained but epic.

WELCOME TO PLUTO.

Great Phillip Glass mega epic vibe on this.

You are really good, btw!  Hope you had a great trip and welcome back!

Thanks!  I was feeling a Phillip Glass kind of vibe when I did this.  And the trip was really, really great.

Thanks! It's kind of fun to get a little ambient sometimes.

Oooh a very cinematic sci-fi feel to this one.  It's like Phillip Glass meets 2001 smile  Maui sounds fun though dang!
