Milky Way Getaway

By Cosmic Cairns on July 27, 2022 9:54 pm

After last week's song about getting away to the day spa, I guess I had getaways on my mind except now we're vacationing in the local galaxy.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

What a day let's getaway to the vast Milky Way
And we'll visit every star in the sky
Look that way out the bay you'll see Sagittarius A*
It's that black hole that looks like an eye

Castor and Pollux are near
Sirius is beautiful this time of the year
So come on let's rally the troops
Betelgeuse is offering discounts for groups

And let's stay for a day on a moon far away
Circling a planet with no name
Turn your face out towards space soak in interstellar rays
And we'll leave a different way than we came

So many places to go
New worlds around us above and below
Watching the galaxy flow
Feeling the breeze as the cosmic winds blow

It's been great but now it's late and we've filled up our plates
Now it's time to turn around and head home
I was amazed now we've blazed our way back across space
There's still so many places to roam

Beautiful song, though maybe worth mentioning the black hole's name is pronounced Sagittarius A Star, Sagittarius A is a complex that contains Sgr A*, the star part denotes it's a black hole. But whatever, logic. It's a very pretty song.

Cute song! and pleasant surprise to hear the strings!

I love to travel with you this way. it is fun and full of acoustic delicacies. this is a CosmicCairns song, as it shoud be and you should really get famous for.

I guess you could call it poetic license to fit the rhyme scheme, but overall I do prefer it when things are correct.  I bet I could fit a subtle background vocal style "star" in there without interrupting the song flow too much.  I might give it a try and see how it goes.

Thanks!  The cello was guilting me into using it again and this seemed like the right song for it.

Aw, thanks.  That's very kind of you.

Love the saw... smile

Nice track, up front doubled vocals with harmonies works great!

I love your voice! So smooth and relaxed, and the lyrics are genius smile
It’s amazing how it feels so up-in-space and down-to-earth all at the same time, pure perfection big_smile

epic song

Beautiful concept. The saw is sooooo appropriate, giving that 60s alien movie vibe. What a vibe this track has. Vocal harmonies!

Another week and another beautiful adventure on a CosmicCairns track.

Love the sing-song feel of the guitars and your vocals.  The vocal harmonies are a nice touch as well.  Only appropriate the saw makes an appearance for a spacey getaway.

Simultaneously up in space and down-to-earth is a good description.  Thanks!

The saw really does have a great spacey sound to it.  Couldn't resist including it on this one.

Yeah there was no way I could not use the saw on this one.  Thanks!

haven't listened to you in a while - really good mixing and your voice has nice audio clarity

love the robot voice intro

they should use this on an infomercial for space travel in the future

Nice clarity in the upper range of the mix.  Always a fun listen with your songs.

A beautiful ocean cruise through the stars.  Fun reading the lyrics along with the music.  Not something I usually do but I didn't want to miss anything on the tour.  Is that an alien that joined in a few times?  Great to hear the comforting tones of the cello and saw combo.

I love this so much. the percusion and synths in the background just give it a beautiful shambles.

I'm just trying to get an early head start on a marketing position for space travel industry.  smile

Yeah there may have been a few aliens popping in here and there.  The cello and saw seem to work really well together.

Thanks!  It was fun to assemble.  I used a little bit of soda can percussion at a couple parts to create a little variety.

Thanks!  Glad to have you back and hope your August is better than your July!

A lovely getaway. If I went to space I'd want a happy laid back song like this to join me. The saw is spacy goodness. I'm voyaging well with this. Great mid and production, lovely vocal harmonies. I just looked at some Webb images today. Far out we will go.

Yeah, I can't wait to see what all Webb will uncover.  It's really cool stuff.
