Amber Lamps

By Cosmic Cairns on October 19, 2016 12:34 am

An instrumental I cooked up using mostly synths and bass guitar with a few field recordings I made on my phone thrown in along with just a touch of acoustic guitar.

Nice relaxed autumn mood!

The song has a interesting development. Now I understand the ambulance gif by lpaghost. Well played keys, bass and guitar with good use of psychoacoustic effects.

Thanks!  It is nice to reflect the change in seasons sometimes.

Personally I think I'd put more trust in my dog to work hard to save my life than some human.  More dogs should drive ambulances.

I actually took the title from a video I remember watching a few years ago where someone was saying call an ambulance, but it sounded like "amber lamps."  Just stuck in my mind for some reason, and I thought it fit once I used the siren sounds in this track.

Very nice, pretty flowing sound. I like hearing some bigger electronic beats and some synths in your work, and the addition of acoustic guitar keeps that nice organic sound, love the backwards parts too.

Thanks!  It felt like time to do something a little synth heavy as I've been leaning a little heavy on the old acoustic guitar the last few weeks.  I do try to mix it up sometimes.  smile  But yeah, I thought I'd keep just a touch of acoustic sound in there still.

The synths are really calming early on and then a bit of panic sets in with the alarm accordion smile Trippy ending and suhweet guitar line.  Nice job!

Thanks!  I was putting my groceries away in the parking lot and somebody's car alarm was going off right next to me the entire time.  At first it was annoying me, but then I thought I'd record it and put it into a song.
