One hundred years of sitting at a computer

My brother decided he wanted to make some music using Reaper, and asked for some help figuring out how to use it. I am not a DAW guy, so I downloaded it to learn it a bit, pretending that the small number of times I've used DAWs and my experience with programming on my funny little hardware boxes (mostly Digitakt) would suffice for porting knowledge.

Friends, I am still not a DAW guy.

Composed entirely in Reaper, Surge XT acting as the main softsynth with a tiny bit of Dexed and the stock drum plugin (mostly not for drums). Noticeably shorter than I usually get because the workflow is not as fluid for me. At least my Prophet 6 makes a decent knobby controller, though it turns out a fair number of those knobs don't send CCs.

I feel like you have captured the frustrated vibes into the track.

It's like something that would play in the background in a late night TV movie where the main character is scoping out the bad guy in a weird nightclub that only exists in that kind of film.

somehow the pad really makes this feel human. gives it contrast

i resonate

nice back n forth between soft drums and harder.

Good we can share frustrations when I get around it. Oooooo that pad is nice and gives it a big mood and lovely constrast.
