not enough music

By colorful grey on April 23, 2016 4:41 am

I struggled a little bit last week. Just got tired of the old instrumentation, it all seemed silly, the whole lute/acoustic thing, whatever, I was kinda fed up with my own sound. This song came to me in the car on my way to work, I was humming something and recorded it into my trusty phone. Later I sat down with my guitar to lay down some harmonies. It fit, and it was a nice change from my last couple of songs. When recording the lead phrase, however, I realized that feel like I have more control over lute lead tone than over guitar lead tone, so out came the lute. Even though it's been through some weather and tuning changes, it fit right in. Thought about adding bass but got too tired.

Awesome!  It's great to hear you singing again.  Everything goes together beautifully. I can't tell you how much I like this.

Spotify lets me down a lot, too.  smile

Wow, the guitar intro it's pretty nice! and then I heard this awesome voice!

Dope dope track man sincerely, my new favorite for this new week. big_smile

Thanks Edmund -- I kept thinking of your comment you wanted to hear moar singing, so there you go! Glad you liked it, I'm happy it reaches you, so to speak. I can imagine you understand what I mean ;-)

I really like the call and response between the vocals and the lute.   Can defs relate to this tune.  Thanks for making it!

gorgeous.  love hearing you sing.  ha ha, love that you are calling out the internet :-)

Could not agree more! Not enough music in the world. Good music can be really simple.... This song would really work in a smoke filled pub (ahhh, shit smoking bans in place!).

ahh and... please put this on splice!

it's on there now! thanks!

This is really powerful. Amazing what one can do with (relatively) simple means.

Wunderschön !
