Prelude to a beginning

It's the kind of music you would hear in some movies.
Ukuleles, acoustic guitars, slide guitar, bass guitar, kavals and some pads. I hope you'll enjoy it ! Tell me what you think.

lovely composition, well executed, love the arrangement.

Woooww.   You are certainly a magician of the strings!  This is such an amazing combo of sound.  Thankyou.

Nice!what did you use for the virtual instruments?

Do you mind if I ask how many tracks this is?

Thanks ! Every single string and wind instrument is played the old way :-). I just use "electric" and "analog" from Ableton Live to make the pad sound.
We have Ukulele (3 tracks), Saz (turkish lute ; 1 track), Acoustic nylon guitars (3 tracks), Distorted Bass guitar (1 track), Slide guitar (1 track), Kavals (turkish flutes 2 tracks). That's it, 11 tracks.

great layering and excellent recording.

Pretty, sounds like baroque-era folk/tavern music but a modern take on it. If you haven't, check out the music of John Dowland.

Cheers, perplex on !

Vinpous, yeah I used to play some arrangements for guitar years ago when learning classical guitar. But I did not intend to sound like him. It was more like a demo track for a friend who needs a piece in the spirit of Gustavo Santaollala (Babel, Lord of War...). Hence the dense arrangement of plucked strings. By the way, I like your pieces very much, Xenak especially. I might produce some more contemporary stuff in the next weeks. It was inspiring.

Haunting and beautiful, well done.

The human element is adds a lot to this piece, sounds great!

Thanks Laohu, thanks Codekk. Really glad you like it ! Sure the human touch is unbeatable ! I have made so much vst-based music for video games... I am tired of it. It's not the music you will want to listen to for itself afterwards. Real performance, even it's not perfect (and it's the case here...), has something you cannot cheat with : life ! :-)

I don't think you sounded like Dowland, just that you may like it. smile
Thanks so much for the compliments!
