Uzumn

One day I woke up with a melody in my head, so I grabbed the move and recorded my voice humming into it, then used the new autopitcher to tune it to something decent, some days later I remade the melody on the m8 and it came out like this! A bit different from my initial idea but still enjoyable and in the vibes of something more aggro that I wanted to do smile
I remember that sometimes I tried to remake a melody that popped into my head by writing it into ableton or anything and it always got lost in translation because the sound wouldnt be the same and I would drift my attention to something else loosing the initial inspiration, I find that humming it and recording it actually gives me way closer result to what my brain is producing, so I should do that more often!

Thank you so much for passing by and listening!

Render straight from the m8 heart

Hell yes!

GOD DAMN. I like how you transformed the gritty intro by subtly blending in and then giving all the space to the really mellow synths there.

I also find it hard to put an idea or a melody from the head to the synth. Your description "I would drift my attention to something else loosing the initial inspiration" hits really close to home. Maybe recording humming it is the best way to go about it, I'll have to try it out.

As always I love it when you feel a bit aggressive, well done!

That chopped piano melody is catchy as heck! Such a cool track Coldsushi! 😎

hell yeah. this is super clean. lovely sense of space. regarding the humming technique, Ive been doing that sometimes too. It's super good especially with no keyboard nearby. I have a few of those really shitty voice recordings that maybe one day I'll do something with. I always forget that I have them when its time to make a track ><

anyway, great work!

Thank you!! I love how the piano sounds so much, it came out how I wanted it in terms of space and I will definitely use it more, is just hard to program compared to play it of course, but I think it worked ok here heart

Dig those recordings up man! You'll find some gems and is super inspiring to use something that started with your voice, usually the organic nature of it can bring different ideas compared to a normal synth rec or jam heart

Thanks!

I love how you tagged this "aggro" because its very appropriate and we start out LOUD but this track also has some wonderful contrasts and gentler moments and the dynamics are really good. Very fun. Always good to chase a melody down a rabbit hole and end up somewhere awesome, even if not where you expected to be heart

Ah so cool I've had similar issues trying to translate initial ideas so will have to try something like this humming method sometime! Really like that metallic glitch click sound in the intro/outro bit

Oooh that mood shift at 0:40ish is super slick. It's like all the fuzzy jagged edges disappeared and we're now in a cozy pad blanket. Love me a good strong kick-snare combo too smile

Oh this is a JAM. My favorite things here are the drums and percussions.  That TING sounding thingy in the first section is way cool. Another great track!

Very glad you enjoyed the calmer part! is one of my favorite thing so far in that theme smile Is very fun indeed! and sparks some different ways of doing music which I feel I'm starting to need a little after chasing only the m8 so far heart
