Neuro

Last week I went down the rabbit hole of neuro bass, watched some videos about it and decided to make a similar design entirely on the m8
I used FM synth with 2 operators no modulators, wrote a simple bass line leveraging lfos for filters, levels and feedback. Then duplicated the bass 2 times in order to apply a different eq on each one of them, bass mid and high.
Played with distortions on the different ''bands'' sometimes even changing the wavetable for the mid or high one, as well as more lfos where possible to get a more moving mid range.
Quick rendered the bassline (some ott on the mix), then ott squished the sample which worked great to glue and rise the distortions and add even more harmonics.
Then just used the samples created by chopping parts, pitch bending, some more eq/filter play and anything else to make an interesting pattern
Mid production I felt I needed a different bass to counter the first one and since everything is in the project just some rows above I only had to experiment with different parameters, create a new design and quick render it, crazy
Even tho I'm not entirely satisfied with the final result (probably cause I rarely do dnb tunes), I still learned a lot and really enjoyed the process which I'm definitely going to use in the future for other designs.
I'm always impressed at how this little device performs, gives me joy and allows me to be creative and to learn more about music production
As usual the render is straight out of the m8
Thanks a lot for listening!!
