Something more on the melodic side for this week, always balancing the mix a bit in order to find a sweet spot of high frequencies and bass, leveraged the mid/side which I'm def going to use more, getting there hopefully!
Bit rougher around the edges but I liked the vocal chops and programming of them, also enjoyed creating different sounds i'm getting a little more used to make synths on the m8, even tho the possibilities are infinite and I can't wait to explore more heart
Last month was quite packed of things I had to manage so I'm happy to focus a bit more on music for the this one!!

Thank you so much for listening and as always render straight from the m8!

That synth at 00:29!!! that's such a wild sound! Is that all hypersynth? Your stuff is always so epic heart. How do I learn to future bass like you, sushi?

Synth arriving at 1:10 is totally a vibe. Great vocal chops.

vocal chops + bass is da bomb!

aww thanks a lot!! I always appreciate your support heart That's right! that sound is hypersynth with some distortion on top and eq to get rid of some of the mids/lows and push the highs side so it should be a bit more airy! other than that I can advise using the pitch slide command and pitch bend to make the synth move and express a bit more than just inputting chord progressions! Try to find a nice balance between the kick and the synth, the synth usually needs a bit more attention to the high frequencies so is loud and clear but not to harsh so keep an eye around the 3 to 5k hz, make sure to use sidechain on teh synth, is not mandatory but it helps giving the groove and creates a nice engine like behavior between the kick/bass and synth. Don't be afraid of changing the structure of a loop you have going in order to give some novelty and freshness to the main idea smile and try vocal chops too!! there is so many ways to sequence and process vocals is quite fun!

Thank you!! I'm starting to like the more chiptune sounds like that one, especially inspired by laama of course, he mastered that vibe so well

It does works 90% of the time heart

Great tune with a fair bit to unpack, amazed at how much you've packed in here.

The pulsing build at 0.50 is my fav bit

Thank you! I tried to make it as varied as possible, that's an interesting bit! I particularly enjoyed making that rubber bass, I thought it came out bouncy enough and would love to use it into a more psy track maybe

I've been traveling the past week and meant to respond sooner -- thank you for the super detailed write up heart<3<3. This is gonna take me some time to digest, but I will definitely be coming back to it and applying it to my learning over the next few months. One of the reasons I got into electronic music is because I love SOPHIE (and also a lot of Flume), and your tracks remind me a lot of their music. Like, I want to make stuff that's fun/silly, high energy, kind of unhinged, and also has big emotional movements. It's super inspiring to be making music on here with you -- I'm excited listen to the stuff you make this year heart

Super appreciated! I used to listen to flume a looooot in the early days of future label, and I always loved What so not first tracks before they split up. Nowadays I'm looking at hyper and modern futurebass which takes inspiration from the old days but adds a lot more variety which is interesting! I hope my description can help you and or inspire you to make something new heart Don't hesitate in asking other questions if you feel like!
