If U Need Me

Feeling better about this one overall, still hard to complete a track every week but I'm enjoying the challenge!
So far mixing is being the hardest task on the device, I have a lot to learn. I'm thinking of using the m8 speakers to understand if its clean from time to time, maybe is a stupid idea...
I'm also starting to use the rnd/chn/nth to get more variations and have an easier life programming, hope you'll like it!!

Thanks for listening

Just listened to all your tracks and they are all so good, including this one. I’m a fan of everything I’m hearing. The sound design is great and the emotion is top notch!

Sounds great! I really like the vocal and how it fits the mood of the track. Very nice sound design overall cool

Thanks and agreed! The vocals just sits very nicely, is one of the reasons I feel this is one the best I made for WB so far, the mood is quite clear and not muffled

the vocal captures the big emotion here, synth stabs compliment the darker tone, good song.

100%, thank you!

absolute banger!

such a tight groove.  love the combo of the drums with the bass.  vocals add a nice hypnotic element to it too.  well done!

Super-clean mix; everything just gels really well together.

Something I find especially exciting about the M8 is that no matter how many people get one, there always seems to be room for more unique voices.   In this case, the tight higher-end riddums flowing over the omnipresent bass + the vocal samples vs the plucks strikes a really cool balance between sparse arrangement with a full spectrum. cool

Also, that opening with the wide pad sets the tone right off-was that made with the on-board synths?

I often lean into making loops that keep you immersed in, something like meditation I guess, thanks!

Can't agree enough, the device has infinite possibilities it truly is the best portable music making machine out there, trash80 did an insane job with both the product design as well as how all the functions are cramped into very smart actions, it makes me want to explore it more and more, I could ramble about for some time haha

Thanks! The mix is something I'm actively trying to improve in these weeks, finding good sounds that play well together but also working with eq, pan and levels in the device is so rewarding, I still have to figure out if I want to buy new headphones tho that can change a lot of things.. In this one the wide hats made most of the job for me, in contrast to the central voice and pluck with the delay opening them occasionaly

The overarching atmosphere is a sample that I pitched and looped, but also played with the filter lfo and table to give it a wobble effect with the pitch slightly changing like a broken cassette player

Starting with an atmosphere (sample or resampling) is my favorite thing to do but I'd like to focus more on drums as well from now on

Really nice future garage track. Great vibe and mix. Man, my buddy lended me an m8 and i should've kept on pushing to learn it. I just don't gel with the tracker workflow, never did but it's a great all in one super portable groovebox. Anyways, you're surely inspired by it and it yield great results! Cheers

Appreciate it! I wasn't sure about the workflow as well at first, it's my first tracker after all, but I'm loving it so far! What I enjoy the most, a part from creating music anywhere thanks to its size, is the analogy to tetris, having to fit all the pieces in a tight space of steps in order for everything to work, it sparks creativity, I believe doing music with something that has a completely different workflow (I used ableton for many years), also helps in finding different ways of creating, solving the problem from different angles, in ableton with so many plugins I was almost never going to sound design from scratch, but with this I feel like I have to and is super fun cause there arent many options so there must be a way to make it sound good ahah
So many artist are doing insane stuff with it, I'm always inspired by the community

My first thought is "crystalline." Everything is so clean and clear, even the rumbling bass. Love the wide shaker-like hats and the rim click, love the middle harmony line and the background choirlike pad, and what a great pick for a vocal sample. But the best part is your arrangement, how you're able to pull back and forth from the warm bass and vocals out to ice crystals suspended in air

woah great composition and mix!

outstanding track! sounds really good on my cans.
feeling super inspired to also try some future garage now, thanks for that!

the m8 is really a blessing. perfect is a big word, but for what it is, its perfect i would say. smile

lovely track. reese sounds really good and plucks are on point.
