programmed on nerdseq, had fun with this one. after half a dozen takes trying to record it live I decided to switch to multi-tracking, which took a bit more effort but I'm happy enough with how it turned out. I think this is one of the most chippy tunes I've finished yet!

That's one epic progression.

While you are not using synths that create a cloud of sound, these instruments and movement accomplish a similar task. And that sequenced synth tone beating out an 1/8th note beat set the song up quickly. A great track. I like the haunted circus synth that takes up a lot of width in the mix. Width is something I really like.

love how all elements come together at 1min and then drift apart again

Woah, was not expecting the change at the 1 minute mark. It's such an awesome little surprise for the ears.

Those subdivisions are spectacular. Same with the time signature changes. This is a really cool track!

heh yeah, trying to fit in as much as I could before the 2-minute mark!

thanks! I'd like to have better control over the width and space of my voices, especially once compression comes into the mix. I've also noticed my mixes are often quieter than others on here, so I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. The "haunted circus" patch (lol) is one of three patches coming from a general midi synth chip. I was using it in a chord mode, which basically drove the entire progression.

Thanks very much for the nice comments! Glad the time signature changes were noticed, but not noticed "too much", ha. My intention for this week was a seamless 4/4 to 6/4 transition. Apparently, my 6/4 jams are sounding very "water level" (hence the track name). I need to remember the 6/4 rhythms from my old math-rock band big_smile

Awesome track, really fun to listen to. Love how it goes off the rails towards the end.
