improv 4 — moss giants

Improvising for Weekly Beats. My self-imposed limitations:

• Digital piano as an input device (Yamaha P35)
• Moderately limited warm-up before the recording
• No edits after the recording is made
• Four VSTs for the year, one for each season

Winter VST: Mikro Prism by Native Instruments

Why am I doing this? To explore improvisation as a practice of being here and now.

I'm satisfied with the length, sound and pacing of this one. It's also something different in terms of a mood.

My mental image: fog-drinking moss giants move slowly through the forest rooted in black rocks.

There's definitely a bit of an ominous vibe to the proceedings that gives it a nice sense of mystery.

This tune is like a story. It unfolds and I catched myself in anticipation how it will end. Very cool and I like it a lot smile.

I have a huge church organ on my mind. A warm and inspiring track. Well done.

epic nice c

Delicious... I'm in a bamboo forest... no matter how far I walk, I don't get any further... .. . . where is the final boss?

Thanks! Yeah, guess I caught the rhythm of something inevitable.

Oh, this is really nice, thank you. Looks like I'm returning to the sound storytelling this year.

Thank you! As far as I understood, it was a horn. But I love distorting stuff so much.

I guess you should light those ritual bonfires. Take this. (torch added)
