I did a field recording of a small stream and thought I might use it to make some peaceful ambient music, but it ended up sounding stressful instead, like the characters in a movie are waiting for something bad to happen.

I see what you mean about the tension. I'm imagining David Attenborough narration over this, warning us about the risks of global warming or something like that. It's a soothing sound that's making a point. Sounded lovely!

Yeah! It's just 5-10 seconds of the stream looped endlessly for the whole track, recorded with just my cheap phone. There is also a bit of high pitched ringing from the drone instrument, it's a preset that came with Vital when I downloaded it, called "corrupted_...+=boot-_" by kyurumi
