Whenever one of my close friends successfully procreates I make it a point to create a cheesy trance anthem. This time my bff from high school decided to create some offspring so I took my time: I started sounddesign this summer on the day of their wedding where the lack of drinking for the bride led me to believe perhaps there was a tiny (but much loved and wanted!) parasite to blame.
After that day I did some sounddesign, but not much else. 8 months later some weekly fiddling and messing around all of a sudden it became urgent to get this track done. I stopped all sound design, started with a random bassline 'it has to be e minor for emotion' and them went straight for a sensation-al synth for the anthem. Realising I had yet to design some pads for background I went for the mellotron and mixed some flute and violins...
Shit, this song had been done before, but different. So I went for the OG CD, grabbed it, ripped it, isolated the vocals, upped the BPM from 121 to 138 and it was a perfect match. I trimmed the lyrics to the only part of the song I could somehow spin as something positive (this is so good, it hurts with every heartbeat) and this is the end result: My first ever, but unintended, remix.
Needless to say I will create a new anthem for Matthew (hence the title format c as it's a redo from start, but still a song for Mat) but this is my weeklybeat regardless.
