End notes 3/26:
I think this week I was able to focus a bit more on rhythm as a way to convey emotion. I can usually zero in on sounds and melody as carriers of emotions, but the rhythmic aspect of note placement is still a weak spot. However I think I might be seeing the first inklings of a shift there.
Also I finally used an automation clip in a song for the first time this year. Hooray. I usually don’t even try with automation because it’s such a pain in FL Studio.
Achieved two extra practice sessions, though for one I was tinkering with a different genre (dungeon synth).
Action plan for next week:
Try to push the limits of what I can wrap my head around rhythmically.
