My main goal this week was to start with sound design. Often I might start with piano or a place holder synth then swap it out with a different sound after the melody is down. This time I picked sounds based on vibe first, then moved to melody. I tend to end up choosing sounds that might work but also miss the mark of what I was going for in the beginning. I’m trying to work towards being able to make songs that actually sound like the vibe and genre I intend at the start of the process. Also, this year I’ve decided I’m going to pick a goal for each week. In 2024 my one goal was to make a finished song. Now I’m going to tighten that down and pick areas to target for improvement.
