Week 16
Goal at start 4/14:
Focus on more dynamic layers in the melody. Also experiment with changes/call and response within shorter spans, such as 2 and 4 bars (last week when I was trying to describe this I said 8 bars but I wasn’t thinking, I really meant 4 or less).
End notes 4/17:
The focus on melodic layers and counter melodies seems to have brought out much more tangible changes. This week I felt like I got close to hitting my target genre of digicore. Dynamic layers seem to be the key to that genre especially.
Action plan for next week:
Focus again on melodic layers. I’ll probably continue focusing on that for the next several weeks. I’ll worry about drums later.
