Goal at start 2/24:
Again focus on experimenting with multiple different ideas and sound selections until I get closer to something that sounds like what I actually intend. I need to start shifting away from just getting something down to getting something good down. Also try to get as close as possible to target genre of digicore/genZ modern hiphop (I already know I will fail hard at this but that’s why I’m here).

End notes  2/26:
One of the things I found is that when picking a lead, you can tell it's good enough to work with if you want to just idly improvise. When I picked the lead for this song I probably spent about 10 minutes just playing with it, just clicking the keys on the Serum keyboard and making little micro melodies. I had to force myself to stop and start actually composing. This would seem to indicate that good leads will naturally give rise to melodies.
Also, this is so far the closest I’ve gotten to my target genre of digicore. The bpm of this is 174, which is much higher than what I usually start with. Maybe I need to start experimenting with higher bpms.

Action plan for next week:
Focus on leads, and assess how well the melodies match my target genre.

This is cool! I love all the little glides in the lead synth. Can’t wait to see where you go next
