Dog & Associate

I was on vacation this week and didn't have enough time to do a full song, so here's me playing with synths and guitar.

On an unrelated note, tax refund money is coming roaring in and I'm looking for a new synth.  Anyone have any recommendations?

Sounds cool.  I like the guitar tone.  Definitely not your normal style; I too had to switch it up this week due to lack of time.  Week 8 slump for me...

Nice job on this though.

+1 on the great guitar tone. What is your rig/how are you recording it? Good work for a quick one!
Re. synths: I'm a huge fan of the Make Noise O-coast. Very different from most stand-alone synths out there and gets you thinking differently because of that. Its dangerous though, often a gateway to the eurorack rabbit hole.

Thanks dude!  And I dont know about the 8 week slump thing man, I've been liking the stuff you've been putting out there.  This weeks was nuts with how quick you churned it out too.

Thanks man.  I run through a Presonus Studio Channel (preamp w/ tube drive) into my interface.  I record in Logic and this is the preset Arena Ready that I tweaked the amp settings a bit and added more delay.

Thanks for the recommendation on the O-coast, I will look into it this week.  Yeah, I'm like horrified of starting a eurorack set up.  I'm the kind of person who would take that too far, haha.

Very nice vibe, with the title and the track's mood I was totally picturing film noir dog detectives smile

I have 0 hardware synths but I can't recommend U-He's Diva enough. That thing is my workhorse, it amounts to roughly 80% of the synths I have in my tracks. This thread here has a comprehensive list of what the modules replicate, it's wild smile https://www.reddit.com/r/synthesizers/comments/3r11vc/uhe_diva_what_modules_is_it_replicating/

Haha the dog detective thing is a good twist on it.  Dude I know, I checked out the U-He after you told me about it the other week and it looks awesome but I've got like the worst attention span and never use my soft synths.  I need the real knobs in front of me to tweak sounds.  I'm going to keep this in the running though because you get some killer sounds out of it.

Aaah you're right, I forgot! smile I just love it too much so I end up talking about it all the time hehehe. I totally get that though, I'm a creature of habit as well!

Short and sweet but the sounds from the synth and guitar are killer in this.  I love what you’ve been making with different synth styles and look forward to pickin your brain one day on how some of this is done

Nice jam dude, the synth rocks, I love how it changes throughout

Guitar tone makes this. The synth adds a sweet vibe too.

It's synth bluesy! Pretty full sound.  Tone to spare!  So many synths to choose from for tax season.  Maybe one of the Behringer knock offs like the Pro One reboot or the new Poly Moog.  Both look to pack a lot of punch for the $$$

You're on a different planet with those synths man. Lets get a collab going sooner rather than later.

That's one funky bass. I'm really digging the guitar though.
